LampStrong Heroes Celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in Grand Style
As September closes, so does Major League Soccer's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. As such, in conjunction with the LA Galaxy Foundation, the Children's Hospital Los Angeles Foundation, and ALCATEL, the LampStrong Foundation was proud to help host 17 adolescent and young adult LampStrong Heroes to the September 21 home match against the Montreal Impact.
ALCATEL generously relinquished their catered suite in order to accommodate all 17 LampStrong Heroes. Matt's guests had a chance to live the good life, while eating, laughing, and sometimes catching a glimpse of the game in their private venue. Meanwhile, about 50 of their friends and family members (also invited to the game) jealously looked on from the "cheap seats".
The LampStrong Heroes were led onto the field at half time in order to be recognized. One must speculate that there must be one or two future movie stars in the group because they loved witnessing their real time likeness on the big stadium screen.
To cap the day off, ALCATEL generously surprised each LampStrong Hero with a personal tablet.
The LampStrong Foundation wishes to thank the folks at the Teen and Family Support Service at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Anne Cornforth of the CHLA Foundation, Lara Bava, Haley Krakoski, the LA Galaxy, and ALCATEL for helping Matt close out Major League Soccer's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with such an awesome party.
